Project Update – Jan 2024

It’s that time again! I missed last month, I know, I was enjoying my winter break. But here we are, the end of the first month of the year, and there’s plenty to talk about.

Far North

• First, when can you expect Running to be released? Well, I’m excited to say that I finally have a date set! You can expect Far North Running to be available for pay-what-you-want on February 12, 2024. It will be available to read for free on Internet Archive as well as itch.io, with a donation option if you feel inclined.
• Now for some “bad” news: the book will only be available as a pdf for now. When I exported everything from Libre Writer, I didn’t anticipate the epub format to eat all my formatting for lunch. Once I get it all cleaned up it will be available for purchase on the website. I’m not sure if I’ll be offering the epub version on itch or not yet. At any rate, because of the extra effort involved, the epub will not be offered for free but I am still aiming to make it a fair price overall.
• The good news: work on Book Two – Returning: Vic – is really coming along smoothly. As of right now, I’m about 4k words into this draft. Obviously there’s still a long way to go before it’s ready, so thank you for being understanding about it taking as long as it needs to. I do, obviously, intend to finish this series. It’s just that the process of writing is a marathon, not a sprint, and I need to treat it as such.

Greenhouse Museum

• As I’m moving away from using BuyMeACoffee, you’ll likely have noticed that all the Part One stories are available on the website. The Part Two stories are currently being posted over on BuyMeACoffee as membership perks, but I will be taking them down. Instead, I’ll be moving them over here for you to read for free.
• The last parts of the story are almost done being written. Then it’s off for a quick edit before I schedule them for a later release. Hope you’re looking forward to it!
• Just like with Far North, I’ll be offering the collection of stories over on itch.io and Internet Archive in a pdf format for free/pay-what-you-want. While you can always read them here for free, I’ll also offer a more nicely formatted epub version of them here as well.

Nosia Archives

• Ok, ok, ok. I am HYPE for this new series. It wont be out for awhile yet, since I’m still working on story one and some world building, but I can say that it’s been such fun to get into it.
• Some teaser for you: it’s about four magically inclined people, from different walks of life and at different life stages, being brought together by the elusive Nosia Society. These beginning stories focus on how each of the characters are invited to Nosia. From there, I have plans to expand the world and the character’s relationships. It’s got magic, it’s got tech, it’s got found family, and maybe a little bit of mystery too!

Exploring Spirit

• After a bit of a break, I’m finally back into researching mode. J has gone to the library to find me some additional texts to use, so I think this article on Vivekananda will be an interesting one. I’ll also be taking a bit of a detour to discuss Vedanta and Raja Yoga.
• Over on BuyMeACoffee, the Mary Eddy and Christian Science series is slowly being released. Again, I’ll be moving these over to the website. My goal is to have everything moved over by the end of the month, so just hang tight!

Streaming

• This month is my Streamer-versary! It’s also my birthday! I’ll be streaming February 8th through 11th and you’re all invited to the birthday bash! Festivities begin at 1830EST, as they usually do. We’ll be playing Cultist Simulator, King of the Castle, and a short narrative adventure called Dropsy. Hope to see you there!
• Also, I’m excited to announce that this year I’ll also be fundraising for the Adult Congenital Heart Association (ACHA)! My goal is to hit $500 this year. For each $100 donated, I will be hiking a mile, up to the $500 limit because I’m not that fit anymore. The fundraiser will run from February 8 till Halloween, then I will fulfill my end of the bargain before the end of 2024. If you’d like to know more about the ACHA, you can learn more here.
• This month, our FF Fridays will be on February 2nd and the 16th. I’m finally in Dravania, land of the dragons, and we’re trying to broker a peace between Elezen and Dravinian. Here’s hoping we can manage it!
• Lastly, I will be taking two weeks off starting February 29th (whoah, a leap year!) So you wont see me live again until March 14th.
